Obituary of Paul LeBlanc

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Paul C. J. LeBlanc on August 4th, 2021, at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital in Fredericton. Born on April 27th, 1959, in Moncton, New Brunswick, Paul was the loving son of the late Laurie and Flora LeBlanc. Paul graduated from Universite de Moncton with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and English. After, he graduated from Mount Saint Vincent University with a degree in Public Relations after having been denied access to a public education because of his physical challenges. He started his career as the Director of Public Relations and Fundraising for the Canadian Rehabilitation Council for the Disabled in Fredericton. For the past twenty years he was a Senior Communications Officer at Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency. Paul loved life. He loved people and people loved him. As one good friend said "everyone loved Paul and, if they didn’t, there was something wrong with them!" If you walked the streets of Fredericton with Paul, you couldn’t go far before a friend would stop and talk. Paul also loved all forms of music, art, and good food. He loved to plan and host gourmet meals and other social events with friends. He was very enthusiastic about music and never missed a festival, especially Harvest Jazz and Blues. Paul was resilient and his spirit was consistently positive despite the many challenges he faced daily. He made every day count, savouring the moments and sharing the joys. He was our inspiration. Paul is survived by his brothers, Bert (Jean), Gilles (Cathy), Leonard (Ann), and Dollard (Phyllis); sister, Marilyn (Ed Cormier); several nieces and nephews; three special aunts, Lorraine Allain, Mae Gould, and Cemida LeBlanc. Paul also has had a number of wonderful personal attendants over the years, currently Ron Arsenault, Roger Clarke, and James Young. In addition to his parents, Paul is predeceased by his two sisters, Muriel, and Gisele. The family would like to extend their thanks to the staff at the Stan Cassidy Centre for Rehabilitation for their excellent care and ingenuity over many years. Thanks also to Dr. Kenney and the staff at the Chalmers for their compassionate and professional services. A public visitation will take place at McAdam’s Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 10th, 2021 from 2:00pm-4:00pm and from 6:00pm-8:00pm. A funeral service will take place at St. Dunstan’s Catholic Church (120 Regent St, Fredericton, NB) on Wednesday, August 11th, 2021, at 2:00pm. For those who are unable to attend, the service will be live streamed at:https://vimeo.com/584344160. In lieu of flowers, donations in Paul’s memory may be made to Ability NB.
