Obituary of Vivian Small

It is with heavy hearts that the family of G. Vivian (Lindow) Small announces her passing at Shannex, Brunswick Hall on August 13, 2021, at the age of 91. Born in Woodstock, on November 17th, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Barbara (Foster) Lindow. Vivian didn’t enjoy cooking, but she did find joy in knitting -- during the time that she resided at Shannex, she produced over 150 pairs of mittens, in a wide variety of colours and sizes. These found their way to people in need through various charities in Fredericton, Calgary and Red Deer, Alberta. Vivian leaves behind her children, Ted Hannah (Debra), Beth Hansen (Garry), and Greg Hannah (Nancy); grandchildren, Robin Hannah, Barry Hannah, Nicholas Hannah, Andrew Hannah and Brian Hansen; sister Audrey Nason (Neil); as well as a several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Vivian was predeceased by her husband Gordon Small. Vivian’s family would like to express their sincere thanks to the staff at Shannex for their dedication and sensitive care of her over the years. Vivian truly appreciated their friendship and often talked about how hard they worked, and yet they often found time to sit and chat with her. At Vivian’s request, there will be no visitation or funeral service. A burial will be held in Kirk Cemetery at a later date. For those who wish, donations in Vivian’s memory can be made to the Diabetes Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
