Obituary of Margaret Emily Bernice Good

The family of Margaret Emily Bernice Good (Thompson) is heartbroken to announce her passing at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on September 13, 2021. She is survived by her daughter Geraldine Arey, Karan Eastwood (Glen), Derrick Good (Gale), Kelly Luke (Tim), grandchildren, Jason, Jessica (Jason), Amanda, James (Lou), Pamela (Pascal), Diana (Eric), Kalei (Daniel), Karla (Matt), Alexandra (Taylor), Justin (Whitney), fifteen precious great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Margaret is predeceased by her loving and devoted husband Ronald Good, son David Good, mom Emily Thompson, dad James Thompson, her sister Lois Alderson (Thompson) and son-in-law Jim Arey. Margaret was the true definition of the family matriarch, raising five children and the guiding beacon to 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. A matriarch who was dedicated to her family and showed unconditional love for all. Her gentle and calm approach fostered a family unit that gravitated around her and her belated husband Ron. Margaret was born and raised in Springhill, Nova Scotia. Her roots in Nova Scotia were deep as she and her husband Ron travelled across the country and overseas with the Canadian Armed Forces. Margaret was steadfast support to her five children as her husband served in the military. Margaret and Ron settled in New Brunswick, raising their children and playing an active role in their grandchildren’s lives. From family vacations to sleepovers and family trips, Margaret embraced all opportunities to be with her family. We were always grateful for the opportunity to spoil her with the love that comes from a family whose foundation is based on unconditional love and creating memories that will last a lifetime. We will greatly miss Margaret and the presence she held in our family unit. We will take comfort in knowing that she is now with her husband Ron, son David, mom Emily, dad James, sister Lois, and son-in-law Jim, who she has missed dearly over the years. Words cannot express the appreciation we have for the staff of Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital Emergency Department, Cardiac Unit, CCU, and Palliative Care Unit. Arrangements have been entrusted to McAdam's Funeral Home where, at Margaret's request, a private visitation will take place. If desired, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
