We have fond memories of visiting Brian and Lorraine in Sioux Lookout. Two things always amazed me about Brian, first was how strong he was when we were portaging on canoe trips, and second, the amount of blueberries he would pick! These were good times!

Condolences to the family & friends of Brian. I only knew him through social media but could still tell how passionate he was and how much he advocated for issues he cared for and always admired that. May he rest peacefully.

So sorry to hear of your loss, Susan. Brian was such a bright light, so open and good! I'll never forget the time we were talking about the community newspaper and the need for voice for those living in the circumstance of poverty, and he just burst out with an "I love you!" and a big hug! That was Brian. Life and love just spilled over the brim with him, he had so much of both, and gave freely. Deepest sympathies to you and to his children.

I've had the priviledge of working with Brian on one of his many projects for some years, and I was moved by his passion for promoting First Nations empowerment through technology. Such people, driven by a cause bigger than themselves, are rare and precious, and their loss all the more grievous. My condolences to all his kin.

I remember Brian as my cousin with his big smile and big hug. I have many fond memories of the farm. Brian loved it when I sent him old photos from past Christmas dinners or our birthday parties with the Beaton and Edwards cousins. He also loved getting updates from our family and mostly about his Aunt Florence who was sad to hear of his passing. Our sincere condolences to Susan, his children, grandkids, great grandchild and my Beaton cousins. Love Martin and Nancy Toonders
