As Fred's youngest sibling I have always looked up to him - both figuratively and literally. I remember bragging to my friends in Pointe Claire that "my brother is a policeman in New Brunswick!" One of my earliest memories is waking up early one school morning at home with "Yellow Bird" bu the Kingston Trio blasting away from the console stereo and Fred singing away! I remember my parents (and me) being so proud when Fred received a scholarship to Oxford University . . . Oxford!! And then again when he bacame Chief of Staff for a Member of Parliment. . . and so many times in between. I remember him telling me about the time that he rolled his Peugeot in an ide storm in New Brunswick. Somehow, he found som ehelp to roll it right-side-up and drove it home, no windshield, in freezing rain. Fred was always a larger-than-life presence for me. I will miss his easy laugh - more of a hearty chuckle really - and I will miss him asking me "how are you today boy?" We didn't talk often but I knew he was always there . . . always a presence. I shall toast you with a fine single malt.
