Obituary of Janette Tompkins Scott née Davidson

The family of Janette Tompkins Scott (Davidson) are sad to announce her death at York Care Center, Fredericton, N.B. at 2 pm on Tuesday, December 21st, 2021, 5 days past her 81st birthday. Born in Fort Fairfield, Maine, USA on December 16th, 1940, she was the daughter of the late James Douglas Davidson and Evelyn Marie Davidson (Tompkins). Janette is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Gerald Ernest Scott. They were married in Andover, N.B. on April 20th, 1960. Janette is lovingly remembered by her children, Ward (Jackie) of Maugerville, N.B., Beverley (Travis) of Saint John, N.B.; grandchild Bruce of Phoenix, Arizona; sister-in-law, Glenna Johnston (Scott); brother-in-law Robert (Toni) Scott, and several nieces and nephews. Janette grew up in Andover, N.B. (now Perth Andover), and attended Andover grade school, Southern Victoria High School and Fredericton Business College. She worked for a year at the Victoria County office before her marriage. After marriage she followed her husband to his various workplaces in New Brunswick for six years before settling in Fredericton. Janette enjoyed traveling by camper around most of North America from California to Newfoundland and Alaska to Nova Scotia and all points in between. She loved the family cottage at Two Brooks on the Tobique that she helped to build and finish. She enjoyed snowmobiling on her own machine hundreds of miles on the York County and Tobique trails. Janette enjoyed hobbies and crafts including gardening, knitting, quilting, reading, and her beloved pets. She loved her family most of all. The family wishes to thank all the management and staff of the Birch Grove section of York Care Home for their kindness and care of Janette during the last 2 years and 9 months that she spent with you. There will be no visitation or funeral. A Christian burial will take place at the Scott family plot at the Moores Mills cemetery at a later date.
