Obituary of Christopher Ian Gordon Adam

The family is saddened to announce the passing of Christopher Ian Gordon Adam on December 30, 2021. He was the son of the late Arthur and Elizabeth (Gordon) Adam. Born in England and moved to Canada with his family when he was five years old, he eventually settled in Fredericton, N.B. and received a Masters degree in Biology at UNB. He began his working in wildlife biology jobs that involved bears and other wildlife at whaling stations or light houses. By the end of his career his focus was on forestry protection at Forest Protection Limited (FPL). Through his career, he developed an interest in the fighter jets of WII, the Avengers and Stearmans. Through his research, he developed a website that depicted the use and history of these planes. Another pastime he enjoyed was researching insects and bird species. These passions brought him to travel the continent exploring the species. Chris was someone who enjoyed literature immensely, so much so he had an editing consultant business on the side. Anyone who knew Chris knew that he enjoyed adding a witty comment or a pun in conversation. He was an avid reader and film goer, especially of the genres of science fiction and historical fiction. His family often found him with his nose in a book reading late into the night. He was a very supportive husband and father to his wife and daughter, Marilee and Meili. He was very involved in each of their lives, supporting their endeavors, being there for every special dinner and competition, all while following his own passions. He will be missed by his partner and daughter, the extended family and friends. Chris wished there would be a Quaker celebration of life in the spring. Donations can be made to the Cancer Society of Canada or other charity.
