Obituary of Bev Fowler

With sad hearts we are announcing the passing of Bev Fowler Saturday, January 8, 2022 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital, Fredericton, New Brunswick. Born on May 7, 1927, in Coles Island he was the son of the late Myles and Helen Fowler. Bev worked for Allstate Insurance over 29 years where he had great success with such awards as 14-time Honor Ring winner, 11-time Conference of Champions winner, Seal of Confidence award winner and Hall of Fame member. He was involved with the community as a member of Fredericton Golden Club, Ducks Unlimited, Fredericton Phalanx Club, UCT and Chartered Member of the Epsilon Y’s Men’s Club. Bev enjoyed playing a number of sports over the years such as hockey, curling, bowling, softball and golf. He was inducted twice into the N.B. Softball Hall of Fame as a member of different championship teams. Bev will be missed by son, Brian (Nicole) and daughter, Debra (Brian); grandchildren, Aaron (Tammy), Jason (Ryan), Justin (Dannie), Andrew (Samantha); great-grandchildren, Haylee, Evan and Isaac; sister, Evelyn Short (Ray); brother-in-law, Raymond Henderson (Sharon); sister-in-law, Dawn (Ward) and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife of 65 years, Ruth; his sister, Louise; brother-in-law, Dennis Dow; and infant brother, John Archibald Fowler. A memorial service will be held from Christ Church (Parish) Church on Friday, January 14, 2022 at 1:00 pm with The Rev. Canon Wandlyn Snelgrove officiating. Due to current provincial regulations, proof of vaccination and government issued identification will be required for entry to the service and a reservation is required to attend. Cremated remains will be interred at a later date in the Fowler family plot in Coles Island Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made in Bev`s memory to the IWK or local SPCA.
