Lynne: we send our best wishes and sympathy to you and the family on Ken's passing. As you know, particularly at a much earlier stage of life, Ken played a large role in my life, stirring my interest in hospitals and health care. He was a unique man, so bright and interesting. I remember him with fondness.

To my dearest friend, Dr. Kenneth E. Keirstead Your death has been a great loss for us. You have left us for good on ybis earth in deep sadness and loneliness. Today, I miss words to describe your personality. You were a very nice, generous person among many in this world. You had always been there for both your dear family and us here in Guinea. You always remain the one and only Dr. Ken for us. Your family, friends, neighbors, community and whole world are very sad today, especially me from here. You showed us great care. You cared for many, especially both your family and us here in Guinea. If only one could buy soul at the market, you wouldn't gone my dear friend. Samadou loved, loves, and will always love you. You were a great person. Today, from this part of the world, we already miss you. We would always remember you in our daily prayers. May Allah forgive any sin you unintentionally did without realizing it. God is the most merciful. He forgives easily. Inch Allah, Knowing what you did for the whole world, especially for us here, Your soul will be in Paradise. You were all for us. You meant so much to us. I love you Ken. Rest in peace Dr. Ken. May God have mercy upon your soul. In the name of Allah, the most gracious, the most merciful. The local community of Dominghia, and especially from myself to the others, are mourning. May God forgive your soul and accept you in Heaven. Amen! Farewell my dear friend! Farewell my dear. We shall see each other back in the Heaven. Inch'Allah.

Ken was a colleague and a good friend. I remember fondly the occasional coffee meetings we had from time to time, where Ken would keep me up to date on his African ventures, which have done much for people in Guinea. Condolences to Lynne, Hans and other family members. Jim

As I sit here reminiscing and reviewing old memories cataloged in my mental storage unit (aka my brain), I could not remember the last time I saw my Dad. It took some time before I realized it was the week of March 15, 2001. You see, my Dad was born in 1932 (I was born in 1983, so do that math!) and was riddled with health issues. Couple that with the fact he lived abroad, owned, and operated a corporation, it is no wonder those trips across the Atlantic just were not possible anymore. I never saw my Dad again in person... but I did get to see him in another form. You see, living on a quiet, historical street in downtown Fredericton, was my Uncle Ken. He was my Dad's younger brother and the youngest of the Keirstead brothers. He even strikingly looked like my dad. I recall my Uncle telling me that as his niece, it was African custom that he is present in the absence of my father. That June he was there to play photographer and capture my Grade 12 prom pictures in his beautiful garden. For the entire duration of my undergrad at Saint Thomas University, he opened the porch door every time I showed up unexpectantly to "just chat". He would patiently list as I Ideated career options. Sometimes we would sip scotch together while he shared his various registered patents (He had quite a few!) and shared stories about my dad and his parents (my grandparents). I left Fredericton in 2005, and with each trip home, I always stopped in unexpectantly to the house on Queen Street. I can not knock on the porch door anymore. My Uncle Ken lived a unique life and left quite a legacy behind! But, the best legacy he left on this earthly plain was truly the greatest gift of all; his children and my cherished cousins. I love you all so much and am enriched, and blessed, to have you in my life. Thank you, Uncle Ken.

Very sad to hear of my cousin's passing. Jean and I send our condolences. We last met with Lynn & Ken here in Hudson a few years ago when they drove through. I met Eugene Keirstead once when I was about 10 years old. His mom, Ida May Morgan lived with my family in Quebec City for a short time - she died around 1950.

I was so sorry to hear of Ken's passing. My sincere condolences to the family. Kenny and I arrived at Bethany Bible College in Yarmouth, NS in 1957 and were in Grade 11 and 12 together. I was fascinated by the experiences that he shared with us. I had been trying to touch base with him over the last few years but unfortunately was unsuccessful. He was one intellegent man.

Very sad, very sad. Ken used to call me his "little sister" and I felt like a real sister and I was sincere from the bottom of my heart to call him "big brother". I met Ken in 2004 when he was looking for a caregiver for his mother-in-law Noreen Tompkins. We drove from Montreal to Fredericton by night. Since that day, Ken has been for me a gentleman, a counsellor, a friend, my big brother. Ken always had good words to keep me strong and he said " Babeth, always stay strong like a true african Queen, don't give up", and he was right. The last time I saw him was in July 2021, he was at the hospital and I went to visit. I didn't know it was the last time we were talking together. It is very hard for me to know that I will not see him anymore. But Ken will stay alive in my heart for he did enough to keep me strong and positive when I was weak and my life broken. My sincere condolences to the entire Keirstead family. May Ken's soul rest in place.
