Obituary of Marie-Therese Carmela Doiron
It is with deep sadness that the family of Therese Doiron announce her passing at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital on Saturday, January 29, 2022. Born in Shediac, New Brunswick, Therese was the daughter of the late Rene and Cecile Doiron (nee Langis).
She was predeceased by her infant brother, Maurille, her sisters Camilla Doiron, Lucille Driscoll, Gilberte Michaud, and Aline Brewer, and her brother Guy Doiron.
After moving to Fredericton at an early age, she attended St. Dunstan’s Elementary School and Fredericton High School, graduating from both the Academic and Commercial Departments. She was sports-minded and enjoyed bowling, curling, golf, skiing, and especially softball with the St. Dunstan’s CYO - the winning team of the 1953 Maritime Senior Ladies’ Softball Championship.
Before her retirement, she was a valued employee of the Department of Tourism for many years.
Therese is survived by, and was a treasured aunt to, Denise, Jackie, Marc, Andrea, Arlen, Lee Anne, Renee, Michele and Dan. Several great nieces and nephews call her "Tee Tee", too. She was a special person whose kindness, optimism, vibrancy and generosity were beyond measure. An earth angel has gone home after a long, beautifully-lived life.
There will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held at J.A. McAdam Memorial Chapel on Tuesday, July 12, 2022, at 2 pm. For those unable to attend, a live stream of the service will be available at https://vimeo.com/726498539 . Interment will follow in the Hermitage Catholic Cemetery. For those who wish, memorial donations may be made to Hospice House Fredericton or a charity of the donor's choice.
