Obituary of Glendon Crozier

It is with great sadness his family announce that Glendon "Spud" Crozier passed away peacefully on April 7, 2022 in Fredericton. Born in Hamilton, PEI, his parents were George and Mary (Lockhart) Crozier. He was proud of his home and his heart was always in PEI. He attended Mount Allison University and completed his Mechanical Engineering degree at Queens University. He was proud of his association with Mount Allison and never missed an opportunity to attend reunions. Survived by his daughters, Jane (Fredericton), Diane (Charlottetown) and his granddaughter, Lauren and her husband Stephane Blinn and great granddaughters Ellie and Lexi (Summerside) and Hugh (Randy) Ellis (Bathurst). Dad is also survived by his sister-in-law, Beverly Seidel (Rouses Point, NY) and many nieces and nephews. He loved being with family and was a very proud father, grandfather and uncle to all. Spud was predeceased by his wife Hulda Vivian (Huddie) Crozier. He met the love of his life during a summer job with Fraser Company in Campbellton, NB. They were a great couple, well-suited in a union that lasted 53 years until Mom’s passing in 2006. Their home was always a welcoming place for friends and relatives where they hosted many social gatherings over the years. The last in his family, he was predeceased by his brothers and sister, Wesley (Eileen) Crozier, Marjorie (Billy) Ramsay, and Wendell (Margaret) Crozier; and Huddie’s family: Harold (Isabel) Jamieson, Lloyd (Polly) Jamieson, James (Jessie) Jamieson, Florence Lyon, Bernice Hutchinson and Laine (Beverly) Jamieson. Dad was energetic, hard working and dearly loved a project, both professional and personal. He enjoyed a challenge, always striving to find and implement the best solution. He climbed the ranks in his career as an engineer at Fraser Inc. Starting on the mill on the floor (believing that you couldn’t manage without understanding the basics) he then moved through levels of management finally retiring as VP of Engineering and Energy Conservation. He had many achievements over his career. He loved his work and valued the many friends and colleagues he met along the way. As an avid golfer he proudly achieved a couple of holes-in-one in his lifetime, one at the Edmundston Golf Club and another at Andersons Creek on PEI. He was manager of the Maritime Seniors Golf Association for several years, enjoying social and tournament events after retiring. He and Huddie also enjoyed many golfing holidays with friends in Myrtle Beach, Sarasota and The Villages. Salmon fishing trips to the Restigouche and the Miramichi were fun times for Dad and there was always a good story to tell about the one that got away! He loved and was loved. He was successful and generous. He was kind and caring. He loved a good joke and laughed the loudest at Mom’s. In joke-telling, he could never get the punch line out because he was always laughing too hard to finish. Everyone remembers his smile and the twinkle in his eye. He had a fantastic life and said so many times. We will miss him but have no regrets. He is with Mom now and we hope they are enjoying a round of golf, having a laugh, maybe a Happy Hour and a game of "pass the ace" with friends and family and of course telling and re-telling all those great stories accumulated during their amazing life together. Jane and Diane would like to extend their sincere thanks to Dolly McCoy for her friendship, support and care to both Huddie and Spud over the years and to the staff at Thomas Hall for the considerate and kind care he has received over the past two years. A family committal service will be held for Glendon at The Peoples Cemetery, Princetown United Church, Malpeque, PEI on Saturday, July 2, 2022 at 3:30 pm. Following the service, family and friends are invited to a celebration of life reception from 5:00 - 7:00 at 143 Seawood Drive, Seawood Estates, Stanley Bridge, PEI. Donations in memory of Spud may be made to Parkinson Canada or the charity of your choice.
