Obituary of Hazel James

It is with profound sadness that the family of Hazel James announce her passing at Thomas Hall in Fredericton on Friday, April 15, 2022, at the age of 83. Hazel passed peacefully at her residence. Born in Newcastle and raised in Loggieville and Newcastle, Hazel predeceased by her husband, Bob, her parents, John and Danella Miller, her sister Dawn MacInnes-Ray and her brother Hugh. Hazel is survived by her daughter Michelle (Dustin Brown) of Edmonton, AB and her brother John (Rhoda) Miller, her twin Royce (Mona) Miller and her sister Jean (Eldon) Jardine. Hazel spent her adult life in Fredericton, marrying her husband Bob in 1971. They moved to Skyline Acres where they raised their daughter. Hazel had a career at NB Power. In her retirement, Hazel took up bowling and shuffle board. She was an active member of Forest Hill United Church and volunteered many hours there. Hazel always had a quick answer and enjoyed reading. A visitation will be held at McAdam’s Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 17, 2022 from 4:30 – 6:30 pm. A funeral service will take place at the J.A. McAdam Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, May 18, 2022 at 11:00 am. For those who wish, donations in her memory can be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada.
