Obituary of George Avery Smith

It is with sadness that the family announce the passing of George Avery Smith on May 4, 2022 in Fredericton, New Brunswick. Born on September 5, 1922 in Halifax, Nova Scotia, he was the son of the late George and Jenny (Stevens) Smith. George is survived by his wife of 66 years, Lorna (Meredith) Smith, as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sisters Mildred Nauss (Cliff), Ruth Clayton (Fred), Virginia Dennis (Russel), and Elizabeth Raddysh. In accordance with George’s wishes, there will be no services. A private interment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, any support for the refugees in the Ukraine would be greatly appreciated by the family.
