Bob was truly one of the very best people I've had the privilege to know. He was a great man. Honest, humble, caring, and kind. I knew him very well professionally because it was to Bob, Vice-President (Academic), that I reported to during my seven year term as Dean of Law. I could not imagine having anyone better. Bob had the full confidence of every Dean who served under him. We unanimously recommended his appointment as Vice-President (Academic) Emeritus. We said in our citation that Bob was deserving of the highest honour, having served the University as Vice-President (Academic) with utmost distinction, devotion and integrity for more than two full terms; aka ways and in all ways an outstanding leader, colleague and steward; trusted and true, he has given his all.
