I am so incredibly sorry for your unimaginable sorrow at this time. I could always here the love in your voice when you talked about Lissa in class. I'm so glad to have met her at the school events for the kids. Her energy was so very lovely. Again my deepest sympathies.

Dearest Lissa I will miss our coffee breaks at STU. I loved hanging out with you. We had at least a couple of things in common. One was that we loved to laugh. As a person with a big laugh I will always appreciate that. Another is a love of color. I will always think of you when I look at the yellow primroses in my back yard.

Dearest Dennis and Zelie, Thank you so much for sharing Lissa with us. She was a phenomenal person, and I am better for knowing her. I fondly recall Stephen's Day dinners on the Mazerolle at the Rose/Donovan 'homestead' (also known as Stewart's birthday dinners), and Lissa's wonderful laughter and kindness. I will think on both of you a lot in the coming days, and I send love and hugs to you both virtually.

I am devastated to learn of Lissa's death, Dennis. She was lovely. There is rarely a day I do not think of her. In fact, I thought of her today because it was twenty years ago almost to the hour that we gave back to back papers at the Frye conference at McMaster. I cannot imagine your grief. There are so few like her. My deepest condolences.

I was a student of Lissa's for just a semester in 2016. I did not really know her on a personal level, but as an educator she made a deep and lasting impact on me. Her knowledge of and passion for the subject matter (Shakespeare) was obvious and she easily captivated the entire room. I learned so much from her in that short time, not just about the Bard but about literary and media analysis in general, that I still use and benefit from. She was a very, very smart woman, as well as funny, kind, and beautiful. I was heartbroken to hear that she'd passed at such a young age. I still think of her frequently and I'm sure that's true of many of her students. She was one of a kind. I pray for comfort and peace for her family and friends.
