Obituary of John Robert Fisher

It is with great sadness that the family of John Robert Fisher announce his death at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on Thursday, June 9, 2022 at the age of 63. Born in Montreal, QC, on August 3, 1958, he was the son of Frances Cunningham and the late Gerald Fisher. John leaves behind his daughters, Chrishanda Fisher (Chris Trites) and Janell Stewart (Brady); grandchildren, Lilah and John Stewart and Aria Trites; sister, Cathy Bird (Stephen); his nieces and nephews. In addition to his father, Gerald, John was predeceased by his sister, Ann Pendleton. John was well known for his wildlife carvings and custom carpentry. He really had a talent when it came to working with wood. He loved being in nature and was always looking for the thrill of adventure. Some of his hobbies included fish aquariums, skidooing, skydiving, kayaking, biking, camping and most recently, model trains. John was always willing to try new things, always had a story to tell and loved to make people laugh. He was most passionate about his family and helping others. John was very proud of his two daughters and his three grandchildren. We will always love and miss you and have cherished memories of moments together. There will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held from the J.A. McAdam Memorial Chapel on Monday, June 13, 2022 at 2:00 pm with Rev Dr. Perry Hanley officiating.
