Obituary of Ruth Langkrar
The neighborhood will never be the same. It is with the saddest of hearts we announce the passing of Ruth Langkrar at 86 years young on May 17, 2020. We know she is enjoying a cup of tea and planning the next big vacation with the love of her life and husband, Karl, who predeceased her in 2015.
Ruth is survived by her son Jimmy and stepson Harry and their families. She is also survived by sisters Edith and Inge in Germany and was predeceased by her closest sister Hannelore.
Ruth loved roses, animals, sewing, dancing, reading, scratching lottery tickets, and travelling – especially to Germany, Britain, and any country that was warm. Some of her most cherished memories were of the 15 years she and Karl lived in Bermuda and the many adventures they shared together. She loved being around people and easily made friends. Not shy or one to mince words, Ruth had no difficulties telling you she did not like something you were wearing or something you cooked. The most common response was to laugh as you always knew where you stood with her. She will be remembered for calling everyone "lovey" and being told she loved you. Ruth was very grateful for the love and support of her neighborhood friends and she loved you all. She will be greatly missed and the "Ruthie and Karl stories" will be shared and re-shared for many years to come.
Due to the COVID pandemic, no funeral will be held, and McAdam’s Funeral Home has been entrusted with cremation, which has taken place. If desired, donations to the Fredericton SPCA or charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated.
