Obituary of Reginald Hay

Reginald Hay passed away peacefully on July 7, 2020 at the Oromocto Public Hospital. Reggie was born on November 29, 1950 to the parents of Carl Sydney and June Edna (McLaughlin) Hay. Reggie is survived by his mother June; aunt Sharon (Hay) Jones; brother Ronald Hay and several cousins, nieces and nephews. Reggie was predeceased by his father Carl Sydney Hay; brother Roger Hay; sister-in-law Ann (Kamermans) Hay; his paternal grandparents Roy and Clara (Rickard) Hay; and maternal grandparents Clifford and Dorothy (Rice) McLaughlin. Reggie was a kind and gentle soul with a great sense of humour. He was a free spirit and lived life on his own terms. His adult life was spent working in construction and he had a passion for travel. Reggie had an adventurous spirit, which never kept him in one place for long as he spent his years traveling across North America. The family would like to thank the staff at the Oromocto Public Hospital for their care and compassion during his stay as well as the staff at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. The family has decided not to hold a public funeral service due to COVID-19 and will honour his memory in private. For those who wish, donations in Reggie’s memory made to St. John House in Fredericton would be appreciated by the family.
