To the family of Louise Mason I send this very very late but no less sincere sympathy for your/our loss. The day I learned she had passed I wanted to run to your home and tell you how much I admired her but I knew that was not appropriate. I then wanted to write a beautiful message but found myself simply at a loss for the right message and now here I am two months later still trying to find words to tell you how special I found her to be. I had returned to UNB as an adult learner in 1988 and was fortunate to have Madame Mason as a professor. She made me feel like the star of the class....although as an adult learner I think she saw me through rose tinted glasses. Years later when I would see her at the Super Store I still walked away feeling like I had just experienced the best part of my day. I would run into her and Gordon and another couple on the walking trail, usually on Sundays and it was just the same. Your day was brighter after having had a chance meeting with Madame Mason. I adored her bubbly personality. She had a zest for life that left me in awe. I am not certain I have found the words yet but please know she impacted my life in a very special way and I eternally grateful that our paths have crossed. Brenda Johnston Sansom

We always will remember Louise's sunny smiles and warm welcoming manner. It was a delight to run into her. Liz and Louise shared some time at the Goodlife gym together and, of course, we often connected at the Playhouse. We are thankful that the obituary gave us the bigger picture and we are so impressed with all her accomplishments in both work and in volunteer activities. Her work with the Fredericton Musical festival was particularly inspiring. We send our sincere condolences to Gordon, Paul and Stephen and all her family. She will be greatly missed but always remembered.

i am sorry to hear about this. My condolences to her family and friends. I remember 'bumping' into Louise on many occasions either at Tingly's many years ago or at the Superstore these days. She always lit up with that tremendous smile of hers when she saw me. We talked about her son, Stephen and my daughter, Anna who were in the same year at school. Her genuine interest in my life and the life of this community was so refreshing and so joyful. I will never forget her.

Dear Gordon and Family.
We got to know Louise in the 1980s when you both had seats behind ours at the Council of the Arts Fredericton ‘Onstage’ performances at the playhouse. With children of similar ages, we followed the progress of each other’s families and later on occasion met at bridge games. Louise’s vibrant energy and interest in family was a constant. Her smiles and enthusiasm for life live on in our memories. We send our deepest condolences to you and your family; know that you are in our thoughts.

Gordon, Paul and Stephen and families: We are so shocked and saddened to hear about Louise's death. She was always such a good friend, some one we were always so eager to meet with and chat about family and friends. Louise was always so interested in everyone, and it was a sincere interest. We remember our last meeting with her during the "pandemic", when we discussed how we had all missed getting together with our families and friends and how difficult it was for her and all of us and how concerned she was. It was classic Louise.. She was a wonderful person...someone we will never forget. As a family you will have wonderful memories that will sustain you in the years ahead. Her spirit is with you forever and with us all. We loved her dearly. Joan and Henry Cowan

Dear Gordon, we were deeply saddened to see Louise in today's list of obituaries. It truly took our breath away to see her image and to know that she is no longer amongst us. What a sad time for you and your family, the UNB family and for everyone who knew and loved Louise. We feel very fortunate to have had Louise and you in our lives. Being a part of the UNB family is an important part of our lives and something that we shared with both of you. Through the years, we have enjoyed our various encounters at UNB gatherings and about town. We especially enjoyed and appreciated Louise's always cheerful demeanour and the kind words she inevitably directed our way. She was one of a kind. We will miss her greatly. We share in your grief.
