Lori, Chris and family, I am so sorry to hear of your Mom's passing. Mrs. Nesbit taught me in high school in Mount Pearl back in the 1980s. I still think of her often, especially when I pick up a pair of scissors ✂️ to cut paper. She comes in my mind and then double check to make sure I have the paper scissors in my hand and not the sacred fabric scissors, which are for cutting fabric only and never paper. Sincere condolences to the family.

The Nesbit Family. Sincere condolences on the passing of a treasured family member. It was my pleasure to have worked with Carroll for many years. She was the consummate professional, and left her mark on many a student. Her smile lit up a room and this world is a better place because of her. May pleasant memories sustain you at this difficult time and in the figure. Claude Bishop

We were saddened to learn of your Mother’s passing. Jamie and I were a part of the wonderful social life connected to the Education Department of Memorial University years ago. We were fortunate to have further contact after we left St John’s with your parents and others as Jamie’s sister Helen and her husband Les would host visiting folks at their summer home in Toney River, Nova Scotia. Those were very pleasant times. Our condolences to you all.

Lloyd and i were so sorry to hear of Carroll’s death. We were colleagues of your father at the Faculty of Education at MUN. Your father was such a pleasant man and beloved by students, colleagues, and staff. Faculty social activities brought Faculty families together and this is how we met Carroll. We spent many pleasant hours together. I especially remember your father being part of our little faculty “band” and your mother joining in all the fun we shared. Carroll had a lovely smile and was friendly to all. As a family, you were so blessed to have such a beautiful person as mother or relative. To the family, your parents helped make my tenure at the Faculty of Education so enjoyable. They were both very special people! Our sincere condolences on your loss! Jean and Lloyd Brown

Dona & I met Carroll and Wayne in Edmonton when Wayne and I were students at the U of A in 1971. Our meeting soon led to many social get-togethers with some of our classmates and their families. These typically took the form of weekend dinners and it soon became evident that Carroll was an amazing hostess, cook, and friend. She caringly kept us laughing and very well fed. By chance, upon graduation several of these classmates moved to St. John's to take positions at Memorial University. There the friendships and parties not only continued, but were enhanced by the social pleasure of meeting and sharing the friendships of many new workmates and Newfoundland neighbours. Carroll was definitely an outstanding contributor to the success of these friendships. She was consistently enthusiastic, vibrant, helpful, funny, and talented. A true friend, a wonderful teacher, and an awesome Mom for Lori and Chris.
We extend our sincere sympathy to Lori, Chris, and their families. We will certainly miss Carroll and hold her in our hearts forever.

I didn’t meet Caroll’s family but she talked of them often. I knew Caroll when we worked together at MPSH. She was a firecracker. Always smiling always busy either with the social club or with her classes. I also would see her later at the gym at the Works where she attended fitness classes. We’d chat on the way in and out! She was a gift! It was my pleasure to know her. And my condolences to her family. ❤️

Chris, Laura and family, Paul and I were saddened to learn of your mother's passing. Although we met Carol just a few times over the years she made a big impression on us. Her friendliness and good nature put you instantly at ease. She was quick to smile and make a joke and showed genuine interest in the lives of those she met. We hope all the good memories you have of her will help you through this difficult time.

I attended the Provincial Teachers College and UNB with Caroll and Wayne during the 1960s and we visited frequently when he was studying at the University of Alberta in Edmonton in the 1970s. We were close friends and sadly, as is too often the case with old friends and classmates separated by time and distance, we lost touch during the decades that followed. I regret that I was not able to reconnect as I had always intended. It is gratifying to learn that they had a long and happy marriage and a full life.

Carroll was a colleague of both of us at Mount Pearl Senior and Central High. She was a valued teacher and friend. She was always willing to pitch in and lend a hand to help students reach their potential. We knew Carroll and Wayne socially and they both added to the life of a gathering. We are so saddened today to hear of Carroll’s passing. Too sad. Too soon. God bless all of Carroll’s family

She was such a lovely person and a wonderful teacher. She was always smiling and pleasant. My deepest condolences to her family and circle of friends. She was a teacher who truly moulded the person I am today. Thank you Mrs. Nesbit for your knowledge and kindness. May you all keep her memory alive with her generous and kind spirit. Love and prayers from Judy Milley-Tuttle her student from 1983-1985. It’s so sad to hear she passed of an illness. She was the sweetest teacher. May she Rest In Peace.

Dear Lori, Chris and all the Ross/Nesbit families,
I was so sorry to learn of Carroll's passing.
Carroll, Wayne, Les and I became fast friends in the early 70's in St John's where the men worked together at MUN and we girls taught school.
Carol and I continued to keep in touch after our husbands died and I had left Newfoundland.
Her obituary says it all... not much to add except to say I'll continue to remember a such a very special lady and all the wonderful times we had....particularly the Saturday night dinners/parties!
Carol occasionally dropped in to Toney River on her way home to NB. Each visit was as if we'd seen each other the week before and I will miss those visits.
Sending much love and sympathy to the family,
Helen

I married Carroll’s first cousin Jim. Like Carroll and Wayne we moved away from NB to the States over 50 years ago and we too made the journey home every year. Undoubtedly we would find ourselves at an impromptu “party” at the “Cabin”. Carroll was always such a sweet warm person and the life of the party. Her smile would light up the room. We missed our family being so far away so it was always a fun filled happy time being with the Ross siblings. Lots of stories and laughter about old times from the “back lane”. I began to feel like I grew up there too and this became my family. She will forever live on in her children and her grandchildren and those precious memories they hold close to their hearts. Those we love never truly leave us. When you feel sad listen closely and you will see her smile, hear her laughter and see her dancing. Our hearts go out to every member of her loving family. Know you are in our thoughts and prayers. Heaven has another beautiful Angel watching over you. Lift a glass in her memory from us and celebrate her incredible love of life.
All our love. Jim and Linda Ross

Lori and Family,
We are so very saddened to learn of Carroll’s passing. She has been our neighbour for about 50 years, and her passing is a great loss to the entire neighbourhood. She will be greatly missed. Our thoughts are with you and your family at this sad time. May your wonderful memories bring you comfort.
