As belated as this is I want to express my deepest sympathy to the Holton family on Ernie’s passing. He was a gigantic influence to myself and so many others; it was an honour having him as a teacher and eventually as a 5-yr teammate on the Jets softball team. RIP Ernie!

My sincere condolences to the family. Ernie was a great mentor to me when I played basketball. I will always appreciate his kindness. To Mrs Holton, Rick, Greg, Susan, Bill, Marylin and extended families, I am thinking of you at this time. Cherish all of the good memories. My guess is that he is up there tossing a few free throws or maybe hitting a tennis ball at this time. Take care!

Dear Pat and Marilyn, So sad to hear of Ernie's passing. We hold you in our hearts as great neighbours when we were all in Campbellton in the 80's and 90's. You remained faithful in connecting even after your move to Fredericton to be nearer family and we have not visited nearly enough. Ernie was not only an educator and coach of high acclaim but he was a good neighbour helping John with one particular big project at our Campbelton home in 1993. You were always just there with the light on and only a phone call away. Rick, Greg, Sue, Bill, Colleen and Jennifer and your families, we heard often about you and yours and you were and are indeed loved and valued. Adjusting to life's challenges and making New Maryland a new home, Ernie, Pat and Marilyn were mentors in that regard. May the memories you made and the successes in life be a source of peace now and may Ernie live on in the lives of you all. Our sympathy and love John, Jane and family

Mr. Holton will undoubtedly be remembered as an exceptional educator whose dedication impacted countless students over his long career. My personal memories of Mr. Holton are of how kind he was to me, how much my mother admired him and enjoyed working with him, and how much he enjoyed watching Billy play basketball.
