Obituary of Kathryn Allaby

It is with great sadness that the family of Kathryn Rosamond (Moran) Allaby announces her passing on October 25th, 2022, at the age of 90, in Fredericton, NB.

Kathryn was born in St. Martins, NB, on October 3rd, 1932, to Arthur and Laura (Hopey) Moran. After she married Ernie, the love of her life, they moved to Skyline Acres in Fredericton where they have lived for the past 61 years. Kathryn loved being a stay-at-home mom and raising her 6 sons. She also loved to read, garden and knit. As the boys grew older, she started working at the Harriet Irving Library at UNB - a job she enjoyed very much. Kathryn loved her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and spending time in St. Martins over the years with family and friends.

Kathryn is survived by her husband of 69 years, Ernie; her 6 sons, Richard (Dawn), Stephen (Joan), Keith (Robyn), Peter (Dawn Marie), Dr. Robert (Lisa) and Neil (Melanie); 12 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren; her sister, Vonna Greer (Charles), and brother, Byard Moran (Linda).

She is predeceased by her parents, Arthur and Laura Moran, and her sisters, Laurine Finley (Gil), Gwendolyn Nickerson (George), and Zelda Keirstead (Hazen).

At the request of the family, there will be no visitation or funeral. A graveside service for family will be held in St. Martins Community Cemetery, at a later date.

The family would like to thank the staff at Paradise Villa for their care during the last 6 months, and the staff at Hospice Fredericton for their care and compassion this week.
