I am saddened to receive word of the passing of my longtime former member of the Canadian Provost Corps (former Service Police of the Cdn Army) and on behalf of all members of the Canadian Provost Corps Virtual Association I send our deepest condolences to his wife "Ulla" and Family. An avid supporter of the C Pro C Virtual Association, John could always be counted upon to offer up his support in the assistance of our former colleagues when required. His great sense of humor was contagious and on many occasions in our younger days he certainly was the life of the party. I have the fondest of memories of John when we were single men living in barracks in Germany back in the early sixties. Photo was taken while partying at Willy's Gasthaus in Hemer, Germany in 1963 Rest in Peace old friend!

Dear Ulla,
Bill and I are so saddened to hear of the passing of John and are sending our sincere condolences to you and the family.
John’s larger than life presence will surely be missed.
You were both such wonderful friends and neighbors to mom and dad, and they adored the two of you so much. Dad was relentless with his practical jokes, which meant he liked you, and mom was always so grateful to have you both near, especially after dad’s passing.
Bill and I always enjoyed a great visit and a good laugh when we had the opportunity to get back home.
We have no doubt there are a lot of shenanigans going on in heaven now that the three of them have been reunited.
Know that we enjoyed having the pleasure to meet you and John, and we appreciated your loyalty and friendship to mom and dad.
Sending our love Ulla. Please take care of yourself and the family. Holding you all in our thoughts. ❤️

Our heartfelt condolences to Ulla, Rainer, Kelly, Chelsea and Colby, Stephan and Jordan. We loved to be in John's company. He was so welcoming and funny. We visited their lovely home many years ago in New Brunswick. We were treated to a lovely huge meal at a restaurant they frequented. And a huge homemade breakfast the following morning. Red wine and jokes were always a plenty. He will be missed and always remembered fondly. These are 2 favorite pictures of John and our grandchildren. Love Candy and Richard, in-laws by marriage.

Condolences to John's family on his passing. My elder siblings would have been part of John's growing up.
As for me, I remember Ula coming to my family home to cut my hair when I was small, after I had double knee surgery and Mom felt I needed a bit of a tidy up.
Rest In Peace, John.
Regards,
Carla MacInnis Rockwell

John was a wonderful, kind man who will be dearly missed. I have so many fond memories of John, but the one that sticks out the most was the time we spent together building a bbq on my Mom's deck. We spent a couple of hours laughing and drinking, and luckily it worked! My sincerest condolences.
Love,
Kim xo
