Jonathan and Jason and families: We were saddened to just hear of the death of your dad. Rinie was a good friend when we lived in St. Andrews. We were sorry to lose touch with him. We remember his kindness and support. He was an active member at Wesley United and spent hours helping out with activities like the Christmas pageants. We have retired to St. Andrews and speak of all of you often when we drive by the house where you used to live. We are making a donation in his memory to Wesley and our thoughts and prayers are with you all. (Rev.) Trent & Linda Cleveland-Thompson, St. Andrews, NB

.Bob and I were saddened to hear of the passing of Rinie. We first met the Plomp family while he was serving at Minto Detachment back in the 1980;s. In recent years we visited at his home in Lakeville Corner and Rena , you and Rinie hosted a great meal. Lots of memories over the years. Thinking of you all and may God comfort you during your loss. Was very saddened to hear about Rinie's passing. We had very special memories as kids of spending time in St. Andrews with Rinie. He was also very involved with our family business the Atlantic Hockey Group where he was spending lots of time in the rinks helping run youth hockey programs. Thoughts are with Rinie's family including Jason and Caroline who we're very kind to me during my time in Ottawa.

I'm sorry to hear the sad news about Rinie's passing. We were troop mates and both signed on and were sworn in, in Halifax in SEPT 70. In fact I didn't have a ride to get to the airport and had to bum a ride from the PLOMP's to get there!!!
I was trying to think what one can say when we loose a loved one and found something that might help me explain.
When we examine sunlight streaming through a window, we notice the dust modes sparkling in the air. so it is with the memories of our friends. We may not even know they are there, unless the full light of our consciousness comes to rest on a memory of them. But they are always present, dancing, moving and swirling around in ur thoughts and through our souls, and will be there forever more.
I can't remember where or when I heard this but found it so appropriate when we loose a loved one.
In sympathy,
Ken Amirault ( Troop 12)

I worked with Rinie in Hampton & he was very much involved with the community. He was co-founder of the Help The Cops Help the Kids benefit hockey game supporting minor sports in Hampton. This game lasted 30+ years and continues to support minor sports through an established trust fund. A donation has been made to the fund in your memory. Rinie was always very kind to me at work and treated everyone with respect. He loved his job and represented the RCMP well. He had the biggest hug when I would see him after he moved from Hampton and into retirement. RIP Rinie. Sincere condolences to Rinie's family and friends. Janice Bates, PSE Hampton Det.
