I got to know Doug through the Sunday family gatherings at the home of Randy and Tracey...such a warm and friendly man, always with a bit of a twinkle in his eye. I was always happy to see him there. I am so sorry for your loss.

Carol and I will miss Doug in the last 15+ years he has been coming to our sunroom for coffee during the week and then going out for breakfast on Saturdays. We have a lot of good memories of the jokes and laughs we had. Great friend.

Our Sunday dinners will never be the same. We have been blessed to have Dougie at Family dinner most Sundays for the past 5 years. When he first started coming for dinner he assumed the chair at the head of the table and that has remained his place ever since. He loved to eat and always had a kind word for the “chef”. He did wonders for my ego! We all enjoyed his laugh, deep down from his very soul. He was always smiling and so so sweet. We loved to hear his stories about his childhood, his kids, grandkids and great grandkids and the trials and tribulations as a postman. He kept us all entertained on a regular basis. He was a small man with a bigger than life personality! He has been a wonderful friend to my father. Dad and Dougie would often still be at the table after everyone had left, sharing life stories and enjoying a cup of tea.To know Dougie, was to love him. He meant the world to us, as his extended family, and we will miss him terribly. Bob, Dixie, Pam, Todd and families we are heartbroken for your loss. Tracey, Randy and Family
