Harvey was a highly respected Education Deputy Minister . Both English and French staff would attest to this . Talented and humble, he would listen and talk with every one regardless of status. He leaves pleasant memories to his former working colleagues and to every one who came his way. It was a very satisfying experience to work with him for 12 years in the Department of Education. I convey my deepest sympathy to the entire Malmberg Family.

Shortly after arriving at Grand Manan High School in the 1950's Harvey started and Directed a school Choir as well as a mixed
Quartet. He also played the Piano to back up the Choir and Quartet. I was in both groups and remember this experience as one of the highlights of my High School days. My wife Joyce grew up in Grand Harbor with Elizabeth.

I first met Harvey in the early 70s, a few months after his appointment as Anglophone Deputy Minister of Education as he was chairing a Commitee I was sitting on. At that time and thru the years I worked at the Department, I came to know and admire him as a gentlemen and a scholar I’m very sorry to hear of his passing and wish to offer to his family my deepest sympathy.. Harvey made important and worthwhile contributions to the New-Brunswick Education system.

Harvey was a lovely man and a great educator. Bill was always impressed by his amazing contribution to education in this province. We had a lovely dinner with him and Elizabeth and Harry and Sandra at the Palmer home several years ago. It will always remain a happy memory. Our family sends condolences to all the Malmbergs. Sincerely, Carolyn Turney
