Obituary of Andrew Leslie Graham

It is with sadness that the family of Andrew Leslie Graham announces his peaceful passing, surrounded by family, on July 19, 2024, following a long and courageous fight with cancer. Andrew was born in Whitby, England, on December 5, 1963, and was the husband of Susan Graham of Beaver Dam, NB.

In addition to his wife, Susan (Brown), Andy is survived by his daughter, Jill Graham (Shawn) and son, Nicholas Graham (Artie); brothers, Simon (Leanne) and Craig (Alanna) Graham; step-mothers, Heather Seaton and Carol Graham; uncles, Roger Ellison (Valerie) and Steve Jordan; sister-in-law, Vicky Stewart; brother-in-law, Ronnie Brown (Cheryle); nieces and nephews, Candice McIntyre (Curtis), Lindsay McCaffrey (Justin), Shannon Murray (Brent), Keagan Graham, Ellie Boulton (Mark), Chelsey Brown, Jordan Brown (Alison) and Holly Graham; great nieces and nephews, Jayden McIntyre, Kane Murray and Charlotte Murray. Andy is also survived by many cousins in England with whom he always kept in contact. Andy was predeceased by his mother Jill (Ellison) and Terry “Terrance” Graham, his maternal and paternal grandparents and by his aunt, Hilary Jordan.

Andy retired from the Royal Canadian Artillery after 32 years of military service in October 2019. He loved fishing, going out on the trails with his ATV, gardening, walking his dogs, and tinkering in his shed. Andy loved sports and was an avid supporter of Leeds United Football team, the Montreal Canadiens, and the Toronto Blue Jays!

Andy thoroughly enjoyed having his monthly outings with his military family during the time he was ill. Their support meant the world to him! Thanks also to Andy’s close friends and neighbours. Your care and support has meant so much to Andy and his family.

Andy’s family would also like to thank the nurses at Oromocto Extra Mural for all their guidance, care and comfort over the last few weeks. Thank you also to the palliative care doctors at the DECRH and Hospice House, and the nurses at Hospice for the compassion shown to Andy and his family during his short stay. It has meant the world to them!

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Although Andy’s stay at Hospice House in Fredericton was short, Andy’s family would appreciate donations in his memory be made to them. Their care and compassion exceeds any expectation.
