Geraldine Redstone and Extended Family, It was just today September 14, 2024, that I read with shock that Charles had passed away when I read a stack of Gleaners that I had not read. His obituary was in the first Gleaner I picked up and my heart was very sad. I saw him at DECH outside on the lawn on a bench a year or so ago on my way to visit a friend and was surprised to see him there as I did not know he was having health issues. We chatted and he assured me he was doing well.
I was reminded of our school and church days years ago in New Denmark in our teens. Then when I worked at UNB and he taught and was living in Fredericton, we visited, took spins in his convertible, ate home made pizza and just hung out having fun and lots of conversation. Charles was very bright academically and one of his lines was, I have to get home to study as he was always upgrading his academic status.. Also lots of trips home with others to New Denmark on weekends.
I am so sorry I missed the visitation and funeral. I had no idea or I would have been there.
Brian and I are sorry for your loss. You are in our thoughts and prayers. Please extend our condolences to your siblings as well. Charles will be remembered forever in my heart and I will miss bumping into him from time to time for a friendly chat. Janet Christensen Ingraham

I have had the privilege of working with Chuck for many years at UNB basketball tournaments. His dedication, attention to detail and endless work ethic set him apart from anyone I have ever known. Always a smile and kind words for everyone that he came in contact also made him such a special individual. I am very lucky to have known him, an excellent educator, volunteer and friend. He will be missed.

Charles (Mr Prescott to me) was one of my favourite all time teachers. He used to make us come to the board and solve algebra problems. He drilled this into me for so long I started to think of algebra as stupid easy which was great because ever since watching Charlie Brown as a kid I just assumed algebra was something impossible. I remember being taught how to bisect a line with a compass and ruler - standard school stuff - and Mr Prescott suggested that it wasn't possible to manipulate this method to trisect a line. This got me thinking about how to prove him wrong. It takes a special kind of teacher to instill a rapport with their students that they want to discover more. Chuck was that kind of teacher and mentor to me. An amazing amazing man. Now I'm a Prof at the University of Toronto and grateful for every minute I spent with this man.

My Grade Eight homeroom/math teacher. I can’t remember a time when I did not want to be a teacher. Mr. Prescott made me believe I was smart enough to make that dream become a reality. I always wanted to tell him…he knows now. RIP Sir and thank you. ❤️

My condolences to the family of Mr. Prescott. I was on student council at OHS in the late 90s, and fondly remember his commitment to our Council.
When it came to fundraising, “Sell, sell, sell!” was his mantra. He spoke those words with such enthusiasm, it always made us giggle.
I was also fortunate to go to a student leadership conference in St. Andrew’s with Mr. Prescott as our driver and chaperone.
His dedication to extra curriculars like Student Council gave me and many others great training in leadership.

So sorry to hear of Mr. Prescott's passing. I was a student in his math class in 83/84 and again in 85/86. Grades 7 and 9 at Waasis.
He was hilarious, challenging the "peanut gallery," and made math fun and interesting.. A true educator and all around great guy. A sad loss indeed. May he rest in peace

It was a pleasure to have Chuck as a teacher colleague at Waasis Road Junior High for 13 years. His energetic teaching style encouraged students to perform to his high expectations and they loved his class. He was a leader in many facets of extracurricular activities and was our staff "ever ready battery" to also get teachers involved. I cherished his friendship and the many laughs we shared. His was a life truly well lived.
