I only learned of LeRoy’s passing last evening. I wanted to express my sincere condolences to your family. I taught with LeRoy at Nashwaaksis Middle School. LeRoy was one of the most dedicated and kind teachers I have ever known. I learned so much from him. His sense of humour and compassion for others were two of his greatest gifts. He was truly a special man.

My condolences to the McGinn family; I was so sorry to hear of your loss. Like many others who have posted, I was a student at Chipman High when Leroy was principal. My mother, who was a teacher, always had great respect for him as a co-worker and principal. Our family was so touched that Leroy took the time to come to mum's funeral last year. May your family be comforted by all the wonderful memories of your dad. I know he was so proud of all of you.

So very sorry to learn of LeRoy's passing! I have fond memories of their years spent in Chipman as nearby neighbours. In addition, "Mr. McGinn" was my high school principal who was loved by all. I also had the privilege of teaching piano lessons to their sweet daughter in their home while her younger siblings watched and listened intently. Our thoughts and prayers are with this lovely family as you bid farewell to this fine gentleman.

Very sad to lose Leroy.
I played many years of slopitch ball against Leroy - he was always a gentleman on the field!
I later was in several Sports Pools with Leroy, again, always a gentleman.
I also often play basketball with his son Brandon.
A loss for our community.

My condolences to the McGinn family. I was a student at Chipman high school with Mr. McGinn as principal. Never saw him lose his cool, he was a professional.
And what an athlete. Playing fastball with or against him was such a treat. And his basketball skills , he was just a natural.
A good man, father, and educator.

Leroy was a memorable principal at Chipman High School during some of the years I taught there. Frances and all of their children were wonderful people; my mother Hazel Legere, worked for them and loved them as her own family.Condolences to all of you.
I always remember two things about Leroy besides his love of athletics: the singing of "We Shall Overcome" during school assemblies and his much-appreciated words to me in later years when he and Frances attended an anniversary of Chipman Public Library.
All of the McGinns hold a special place in my heart. May God strengthen each of you as you mourn his passing. Sincerely, Georgina Wallace

So M. McGinn! I bet you have had more than your fair share of adulation from students and friends who are now taking the opportunity to remember the times you had a unique influence on their lives. I too, have so many memories of you how you influenced me. Professionally , I spent my student teaching period under you in Woodstock and I taught one memorable year under you at Chipman Regional High School and since that time, I have worked under more than a dozen principals in 3 provinces and 1 State. But you were the best for the teachers and best for the kids.
As a brother, you were a strong influence on my life and as a sibling I would support those hundreds of students who would say .
"Thanks for those positive memories ". As kids we were fortunate to have loving parents and exceptional role models. Clem and Stella provided clear direction and parental role modelling. LeRoy"s wonderful qualities as a parent did not "come of the grass"
Professionally and in every day life, I am sure he had a few regrets . His legacy has been established and his epitaph might be as simple as "He was a good man". That is how our family will remember him.
Even though Eva, Donnie, Brian and Wendy are not here now, I would like to speak for them when I say, "We had a good life together and thanks to each of you and thanks to our parents.
Doug McGinn

To say I adored Mr. McGInn is an understatement. He was in my eyes put on this earth to become an educator. His laugh was contagious and his patience never ending. And lord knows as a middle school teacher he had his hands full of snot nosed teenagers not quite ready for adulthood. But I never heard him raise his voice. A hand on a shoulder with a little squeeze and he would lean down and whisper, I am here to listen if you need to talk. Those simple words and the shoulder squeeze would reign peace through the whole classroom. Here I am now a 48 year old woman who never forgot her Mr. McGinn
Rest easy my friend and may Heaven be full of all of your favorite cookies and beautiful plants to tend to.
Love Always
One of your snot nosed brats
