Obituary of Stanley Carroll Richardson

The family of Stanley “Stan” Carroll Richardson is sad to announce his passing on October 28, 2024 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital (DECH), Fredericton, New Brunswick. Born on June 6, 1934 on Deer Island, NB, he was the son of the late Heber and Edna (Stanley) Richardson.

Stan will be missed by his loving wife of 64 years, Merva (Amos) Richardson; daughter, Tammi Richardson (Jay Pinckney), and their son, Jacob; son, Tony Richardson (Erin), and their son Hayden; sister, Patricia Matthews (Vancouver, BC) as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Along with his parents, Stan was predeceased by his brother, Everett Richardson and sister, Muriel Mawhinney.

Stan was a great lover of the outdoors, having a passion for hunting and fishing, or just being in the woods. He grew up with boat building all around him, so his love of boats, especially wooden boats, was a surprise to none. A natural extension of this was his skill as a woodworker and his many years as an Industrial Arts teacher at Oromocto High School.

The family wish to thank the staff, nurses and doctors at the DECH 3E and ER departments for their kindness, caring and compassion during this difficult time. It was greatly appreciated.

The family will receive guests at McAdam’s Funeral Home for a visitation on Thursday, October 31, 2024 between 4:00 and 6:00 pm. A funeral service will be held at Smythe Street Church on Friday, November 1, 2024 at 11:00 am, with a burial in the St James the Greater Anglican Cemetery in Ludlow, NB following a reception.
