Obituary of Kenneth Bradley Little
The family is sad to announce the passing of Kenneth “Ken” “Boppy” Bradley Little at the Dr Everett Chalmer’s Hospital on November 16, 2024. Born on October 30, 1949, in Kitchener, Ontario, he was the son of the late James Kenneth Lebaron and Laura Frances (Wood) Little.
Ken will be missed by his loving wife of 52 years, Wendy (VanExan) Little; children, Christie (Jeremy) and James (Alexis); grandchildren, Daniella and Jayme; siblings, Debbie, Rodney (Suzanne), Janice (Darrell), and Scott (Raveena), as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.
In addition to his parents, Ken was predeceased by his brother-in-law, Art.
Growing up in an army family, Ken moved often and went to a new school every year until the family settled in Ottawa and from there he went to the University of Western Ontario. After graduation, he had a brief career with Wood Gundy in Toronto but chose to leave the hectic life of Ontario to come to the quiet rustic beauty of New Brunswick. He had a very challenging and fulfilling career with NB Power and made many friends along the way.
Once retired, Ken started to volunteer at the Fredericton Food Bank, “Greener Village” and as was his way saw a need for change and dug right in to help make it happen. Later on in his retirement he also found the Unitarian Fellowship of Fredericton and became an active member. He believed in making the world a better place, and to this end, he tried writing a book that explained his thoughts and ideas on how this could be brought about.
In his spare time, he loved to travel with Wendy. Golf trips to Myrtle Beach were always a favourite. Once retired they would head south in the winter, exploring warmer climates staying in Florida, San Diego and finally Tucson. The fact that all these places allowed him to participate in his favourite activities (canoeing, golfing, hiking, biking – the list goes on as long as it was outdoors) was not a coincidence. When home, he loved to spend time at the cottage at Harvey Lake, just relaxing or “hunting” – which was really mostly an early morning walk in the woods.
Above all things, though, Ken loved his family. He adored his children and grandchildren and was so very proud of all the accomplishments of the people who called him “Boppy”. He will be truly missed.
A memorial service will be held at McAdam’s Funeral Home on Thursday, November 28, 2024 at 2:00pm. For those unable ot attend the service, a livestream will be available at the following link: https://vimeo.com/event/4737859
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Fredericton Food Bank or the Unitarian Fellowship of Fredericton in Ken’s name would be appreciated by the family.
