A friend in Fredericton notified us of the very sad news as we travel.
Sympathy to all the family.
Doris was our friend and old neighbor for 34 years and we kept in touch with calls or visits to each other.
As Doris and I hung out laundry outside on the washline we would call out to each other!
Will miss you dear Doris.

To all of Doris' family members,
Doris was one of my very favourite ladies at Saint Andrews Church for many a year. She was as you have described her - a warm, knowledgeable, very kind lady, a very wise woman. Our friendship started when Red was in hospital, and went on from there. I was a Pastoral Care person for the Church so I visited him quite often and enjoyed his company as well. Doris was one of the few who came to visit me in hospital when I was in there for 8 months. That meant so much to me! When I moved to Ontario 8 years ago, we phoned back and forth for a while and enjoyed a long distance friendship. I am sorry that you have lost this very fine person from your lives. I pray that you may know that God\s arms are around you during this very sad time in your lives. I will keep you in my prayers. Farewell, Doris, until we meet again.

Gary, Ross, and Sandra;
My sincere condolences, your mother will be so missed. She was always welcoming to me, even when I dropped in unannounced; I got a hug and a smile from her, and your Dad. I never saw your mother without a smile or an offer of a cup of tea, and a cookie or a meal. Hugs to you and all the family.

My condolences to all the family; I have lost a best friend of over 63 years, whom I met in Woodstock. Our friendship made our years in Woodstock so special, and continued when Doris and Red lived in Saint John and Fredericton.
Favourite memories are our shopping adventures, to Houlton or Bangor, returning with tales of laughter and border stories; and more than once, when we were together, people thought we might be sisters, a high compliment for me, since I do not have a sister.
May you find comfort in her love of her family. Doris was a wonderful mother, and a true friend.
