I was so sorry to learn of Orville's passing. I knew him as a dedicated champion of employee welfare at the University of New Brunswick, a role he continued in retirement as the founding president of a very successful Retired Employees Association. In anything he took on, Orville was always well prepared, determined and loyal. And who will forget his insistence on bringing a giant -- and always delicious -- ham to the annual retirees picnic. He will be truly missed. My sincere condolences to Monnie and family.

We want to express our sympathy to all of you. We enjoyed Orville's friendship and will miss him. We often remember one time when we went to church Sunday morning in Fredericton and Orville was preaching. We went to Chipman for evening service and Orville was there. When we came into the church Orville went out and came back a few minutes later. He said that he had planned to use the same sermon as in the morning but when he saw us come in he had to go to his car to get another one. He was always prepared. We are praying for you. Neil & Mary

Dear Monnie and Family, My sincere condolences on the passing of Orville. The last time I saw him was at the grocery store but could not talk to him because we were lined up waiting to go through the cash. I had the highest respect for Orville. He was a wonderful boss when we worked together at NBSCETT. He was always the gentleman and treasure the memories of working for and with a Christian. Sending love, thoughts and prayers as you walk through this difficult time. We are blessed to have God by our side to carry us through this grief. Sending love, thoughts and prayers. Marie

If you saw me you would recognize me but perhaps my name eludes you. My husband, Glenn pastored in Charlottetown 20 years and then taught at EBBI another 14 years. He often spoke at the PEI conferences where you and your husband so faithfully attended. I am amazed how many people the Lord has called home just in these last 3 or 4 months. I wonder if Orville and Glenn have seen each other as Covid took Glenn home December 16.I wish Orville had a camera and could send pictures back. Heaven seems so much closer now. It is wonderful to have the assurance that we will see these men again. I had no idea Orville was such a busy man in so many areas outside his "ministry" life there at Calvary Baptist.

Mrs. Scott, and family, I was saddened to hear of Mr. Scott's passing. Even though we weren't the easiest youth to manage, I do have wonderful memories of many days at home for lunch, doing pottery and going to York Care Centre. The love you showed us was amazing. I will be praying for you all as you go through the next days and months.

Our love and concern for you in Orville's homegoing. Remember when I was starting at UNB and you were just back from Orville's work at Moody. We met as a youth group as I recall at your place then a little further out Regent Street from the church. Orville's faithful and many faceted ministry will be remembered by many. "Blessed be God ... the God of all comfort ...".

Dear Scott Family, On behalf of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Moncton, NB as well as Emmanuel Baptist Bible Institute I would like to send our sincere condolances for your loss. I so appreciated the times of fellowship I had with Orville and his many kind sacrifices for EBBI in particular (especially in relation to his photography talent). He was a faithful testimony for Christ and I am thankful for the hope-filled sorrow we experience knowing He is with our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Be assured of our prayers for you as you grieve that God's grace and comfort would surround you at this time. In Christian love, Pastor Joel Eastwood and the church family at Emmanuel Baptist Church

Dear Monnie & Family: I was surprised to hear on Sunday of Orville's Homegoing. My condolences to you all. Orville was a "pillar" in many things- his Church, his Technician's society, his family are those I remember best, but he put his all into everything else he did as well. He was a good friend, and a good mentor during my years in Fredericton. I think we can all truly say "He kept the faith", and he finished well. We are privileged to have known him for so many years. I am sure he is enjoying being in the presence of the Saviour he loved so well. He will be missed by many people from many walks of life.

Dear Monnie and family: I have thought much about the different parts of the relationship I had with you over the last 60 years. I remember how elated his mother was at your return from Moody. I remember him as an able Sunday School Superintendent and a dedicated youth leader. He spoke ably from the Word and encouraged us as young people to study and speak. I remember the physical work he put into the Calvary Baptist Church property. Gathering to work on ceramics or have a youth social, we were always welcome at your home on Regent Street and on Albert Street. One of my sweetest memories is the day that you and Orville during one of the most difficult times of my life, gave me a very generous gift. My father turned to me with tears running down his cheeks and said "You are blessed with wonderful friends." How true and I am happy that my friend is rejoicing with his Saviour tonight but I share your loss and have been praying for you constantly. May your memories comfort you and may the God of all comfort be very near in the days to come.

Dear Monnie and Family, Our love and prayers are with you and your family at this particular time. Patricia and I have known you and Orville for the last fifteen years when we joined Calvary Baptist here in Fredericton, NB. I specifically remember you and Orville inviting our family to your home for lunch after a morning service. Your gracious hospitality and genuine friendliness struck a nerve with us. Over the years, since then, Orville and Monnie would open their home to have folks over to watch particular UNB championship hockey games, specific world junior games and Monnie and he would serve a variety of chips and pop, tea, coffee and snacks. We watched the action on a humongous screen that Orville installed. They would invite the church over every year to view the Christmas concert live from the Moody church in Chicago. What great memories we enjoyed at their home! Jesus stated "I am the resurrection and the life. Those who believe in me, even though they die, will live and everyone who lives and believes in me will never die."
