Mary Lou & Stuart Roxborough posted a condolence
To Dave's family, There are no words to express our extreme sorrow over the loss of this dear man. He was truly one of a kind-brilliant,modest,kind,inciteful,possessing an outstanding sense of dry and witty humour. These are only a few of the words that describe him. We can only imagine your sense of loss. Please know that he will always remain in our hearts. I, Mary Lou, am Marilynn's cousin and close friend. My husband Stuart & I send you our love. We know that family gets you through these difficult times. We also know that you are a close family from what Dave has told us and will no doubt draw your strength from each other. May you find comfort and peace.

Marilyn, I'm so sad to hear about your husband's passing. We know that his spirit is always with you but damn, it's so tough to adjust to an absent physical presence. May you place one foot in front of the other with ease & grace. Sending you love, light & big hugs.

Broken Chain We little knew that day, God was going to call your name. In life we loved you dearly, In death, we do the same. It broke our hearts to lose you. You did not go alone. For part of us went with you. The day God called you home. You left us beautiful memories, Your love is still our guide. And although we cannot see you, You are always at our side. Our family chain is broken, And nothing seems the same, But as God calls us one by one, The chain will link again. Author: Ron Tranmer God Bless

I am heartbroken for you, Marilynn, and for the family. Dave was such a fun character, full of knowledge, dry wit and humour, and I know you loved each other dearly. We will all miss Dave - and I'll always remember our many evenings playing cards and you saying "I love you" to Dave with a smile as you bested him, our Christmas Eves and our New Year's Eves, and the many years of close friendship. My heart is with you during this difficult time but I know your love and many wonderful memories will help you through now and always. Love, Susan xo

Dave... You were born into the howling winds, torrential rains and sunburned by the meteorological variations that are the only constants...the proverbial Provincial imperatives...that would manifest themselves in becoming a part of your temperament, soul and indeed your very being. Saskatchewan you say! Always the Academic with an eye on Chemical Compounds and an interested and interesting perspective on how your chosen field of study could and would reveal solutions to the issues and controversies surrounding "your" at times, precarious Canada. Discussions on the Beach at Sauble after a raucous afternoon of fun and games always held a note of fascination for me as we cleared away the flotsum and jetsum of the outdoor gatherings, wrapped cables, and folded the myriad of tables and "lawnchairs" assembled for our / your Family events. Calm. Collected. Yet characteristically a little aloof from the "turmoil" of the goings on...and being just a little more appreciative than most of the collection of individuals brought to bear on you and your lovely Wife's visits. "Just to stay in touch" as you used to say. I specifically remember the kindness' that you demonstrated during Barbara's difficult time...how, on a very personal note, you related to my mother Helen Georgas...100 years old as she was at the time...and you, that tall, cool drink of water...caring and deliberate in conversation. It was only a couple of borders away, nevertheless a geographical distance that did it's job to keep you sane and away from the "kissy face gang" that you married into. I can never be certain as to how you were received in your day to day duties as Manager, Technician and conceptual developer for the Industry and people you were connected to...but of your love for my Dear Cousin and her genuine appreciation for you, her life's partner was constantly remarkable. Your personal "courage of the early morning", (a catch phrase brought to bear by William Avery Bishop, Billie Bishop to most)...will always be remembered as you slipped out of here and into something ethereal. Thank you for sharing your remarkable energy and lifeforce with our Family...Your Family and godspeed. Cuzzin' Chris from British Columbia

Please accept my sympathy for your loss. I shall always remember David as a man who thought I could be a better cyclist, and who substituted for me at twice my speed in a triathlon.
