Obituary of Marjorie Eileen Scott
It is with hearts filled with sadness, abundant love, and cherished memories, that we announce the death of our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and family matriarch – Marjorie Eileen Scott- on April 28th at the Nashwaak Villa in Stanley, New Brunswick at the age of 93. Marge was preceded in passing by her sweet husband James Scott.
Born and raised in Welsford and Saint John New Brunswick to the late Harold and Eva Wood, Marge was the only girl in her family. Her four brothers, Gerald, Gordon, Donald, and Earle, all adored her.
Marge later moved to Montreal to raise her family. Being a true Maritimer at heart, she later returned to Fredericton to become a second mother to her twin granddaughters. Her last ‘home’ was the Nashwaak Villa.
Marge will be profoundly missed by her son, Bill (Jackie) Brydges, and her daughter, Linda (Ralph Moore) Brydges. She will also be deeply missed by her six grandchildren: Angela (Maurice), Sarah (Chris), Bridget, Will, Taylor, and Jenna, as well as Marge’s youngest brother Earle (Anne).
Above all, Marge leaves behind a legacy of kindness and strength. Her love for her family was fierce and unrelenting. Most of her life was dedicated to nurturing her loved ones and maintaining her long- term friendships.
The family wish to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at the Nashwaak Villa who loved, laughed, sang, and danced with Marge over the past six years, and who held her so tenderly at the end of her life when her family could not be with her.
We take comfort in knowing that we will continue to feel Marge’s presence and hear her voice throughout our lives as we picture her dancing a happy little jig to the music of her soul.
A celebration of life will be held at McAdam’s Funeral Home in Fredericton at a later date. If you wish, a donation can be made to the Nashwaak Villa Inc.
