I am so sorry to read of Jeff's passing. Several years ago when I was a newly minted professor, I signed up for something called a "teaching triangle" where three professors are connected and attend each other's lectures with the goal of learning from one another to become better teachers. I was fortunate to have been matched with Jeff who started at UNB around the same time and I was so impressed with his energy and approach. I reflect very fondly upon that experience and how it opened my eyes to different styles of teaching in different disciplines. I thought he was an excellent educator and leader, and my heart goes out to all his family and friends as they mourn his loss and remember his life. Trevor Hanson, Professor, Civil Engineering (UNB)

Jeff was my cousin. In fact, the only male cousin McNally! I have so many fond memories of our childhood and how he would follow me around our grand parents property playing games and laughing so hard! Our families would often go camping together and we would all end up terrorizing the grown-ups! I regret losing touch in our adulthood but proudly followed his amazing career of which he worked so hard and accomplished so much! His devotion to his kids (Thomas and Amelia) was profound, his dedication to his students was incredible and his kindness and sense of humor was a trademark.
Truly, the world is a little dimmer without my cousin Jeff.

First of all, I would like to express my heartfelt condolences to the entire family. I was deeply shocked and saddened to hear about the passing of Dr. Jeff. As one of his students, I had the privilege of experiencing firsthand his incredible kindness, approachability, understanding and generosity. He was truly one of the most compassionate and dedicated professors I have ever had the honor of learning from.
Dr. Jeff was not just a professor to me—he was an inspiration. He was my favorite, which is why I took every course he taught during my time at the university. We often had the chance to chat after class, and those conversations meant so much to me. His stories about his own experiences and achievements were both inspiring and humbling. It was clear that he not only cared about his students' success, but also wanted us to grow as individuals, both academically and personally.
In fact, I recommended him to my husband when he was considering taking some courses on the MBA program at UNB, because I truly believed he was the best professor anyone could have. I have no doubt that many others would say the same. His legacy will live on in all the lives he touched—mine included.
It’s difficult to comprehend that someone so young and full of promise is no longer with us. His passing is a tremendous loss, and my heart goes out to the whole family during this incredibly difficult time. Dr. Jeff's memory will remain in my heart, and I will always cherish the lessons he taught, both inside and outside the classroom.
Please know that you are all in my thoughts and prayers. May you find comfort in the love and support of those around you, and in the knowledge that Dr. Jeff made a profound and lasting impact on so many lives.
From his former student.

Dear John, Cindy, Lisa, Amelia, and Thomas,
I was deeply saddened to hear the news of Jeff's passing. He and I were colleagues for close to 20 years. During that time, it was always clear to me how much he loved, appreciated and valued all of you. His face lit up whenever he spoke about Amelia and Thomas - he was such a proud Dad. Jeff leaves behind an academic legacy, but I will always remember him personally for his intelligence, wit, wonderful sense of humour, and his infectious laugh. Please know that you are all in my thoughts during this difficult time of loss.
